A Message from Chris Tolson, Head Tennis Coach
This is such an exciting time for Jessup Athletics and our tennis program as we transition into NCAA D2 and the Pac West Conference. The Women's tennis program is entering its fifth year, while the Men are entering their third year of competition. Jessup tennis has improved its overall record each of the last 2 years and currently we are out to a 4-1 start this year between both programs. This past season came with several program firsts. Roger Wen became the first player in program history to make the All GSAC Team. Jessica Holbea became the first singles player ranked in the Nation in the NAIA at number 36 in the Nation. Jessica Holbea and Nicollet Alexander were the first Nationally Ranked doubles team in the NAIA at number 24 in the Nation. So far this year we have 4 singles players ranked in the top 25 and 2 doubles teams in the top 10 in the ITA West Region. Not only is our program succeeding on the court but also in the classroom and community. We have 5 players that were named ITA Scholar Athletes. Sam Smith was selected to the CSC Academic All District Team, Smith also won the Cliff Hamlow Champions of Character Award. The next few years are so important for our tennis program. As we go through the transition from NAIA to NCAA D2 we need your help and support in developing our scholarship fund so we can continue bringing in great student athletes as we build a championship culture.
