Salvador | Biblical Studies

Recognizing the call to ministry in his youth, Salvador Castaneda is serving in Campus Ministries as Jessup's Monday night Chapel Coordinator. The Biblical studies major works closely with the preaching team and is actively involved with student-led worship nights. "Since I've come to Jessup, I've definitely grown as a leader," he said. "I've had many opportunities to grow not only my faith, but my skill set."

Castaneda is representing the Multnomah Biblical Seminary because he would like to one day pursue seminary studies himself. ”The Multnomah Seminary is a step I’d like to take after graduating from Jessup. Attending a seminary that is a part of Jessup encourages me to succeed in my studies. It’s motivating to better prepare myself as a minister and know I will be taught by individuals who share similar thoughts as my current professors.”

Inspired by his coursework, Castaneda benefitted from his coursework, in particular his Comparative Theology course. "It helped me understand others' opinions and become better equipped to find common ground as I'm sharing the gospel," he said. "My Old and New Testament courses also helped me learn more about history which has allowed me to gain a better perspective on the current events we face today."
