Victoria | Political Science Major

Drawn to attend Jessup because of the University's strong academics and unapologetic Christian faith, sophomore and public policy major Victoria McCurnin is striving to be a light in her field. She looks forward to influencing the bigger picture by shaping pro-family initiatives, biblically grounded policies, strengthening marriages and families and promoting righteousness in governance. "I want to be a light in public policy, serving with integrity and helping redeem culture for His glory," she said.

As Student Body President and President of both the Alexander Hamilton Society and Intercollegiate Studies Institute, McCurnin has a lot on her plate, but is finding time to put Give:24 at the forefront. Her Give:24 Why is straightforward, "I wouldn't be able to attend Jessup if it weren't for the generosity of others," she said. "I'm someone who's navigated a lot of loss and Jessup has given me a sense of rooted belonging, a spiritual family that shows up, supports, and reminds me I'm never alone. God used this community to heal parts of my heart I didn't even know needed healing and I'm so grateful."

Your Give:24 gift raises funds for student-led public policy research and scholarships to equip Christian leaders for public service and civic engagement. "The projects I've been involved in give me hands-on insight into legislative processes, ethical governance, and public administration from a biblical worldview," McCurnin said. "These real-world placements in government, policy organizations, and public service build my resume for law school and political roles, while aligning perfectly with advocating for families."
