A testament to the way scholarships change lives, freshman Lisa Blakley is the recipient of Jessup's 2025 Scholar Showcase award, receiving a full tuition scholarship for her remarkable efforts. "I believe God answered my prayers to be here," she said. "The more I learned about Jessup, I knew it was the school for me, so I prayed for God to open a door, if it was His will." 

For Give:24, the Digital Communication, Art and Design (DCAD) major is representing the Art Installation project and other scholarships. "I've always loved the arts and want to see them flourish both on and off campus," she said. "This initiative is important because it provides a permanent place to house some of the artwork created by students." Recognizing that God is the ultimate Creator, Blakley sees art as a form of worship and a way to help spread the gospel. 

As a first generation college student, Christian higher education is of great importance to Blakely. "There aren't many universities that offer the kind of DCAD program Jessup does," she said. "My family is ecstatic that I'm here and I'm so excited about all the things I have the opportunity to learn thanks to the generosity I've received."
