Nick | Aviation Major

When the time came to transfer to a four-year university, junior Nick Scott knew Jessup was the right fit for him. "I was looking for a place I could learn my craft (flying), mature as a person, grow in my faith and do all of this in community with others who have similar goals," he said.

Scott's inspiration to pursue a career in aviation began at a young age and stemmed from flying a drone he received as a Christmas gift. "That experience encouraged me to convince my brothers to pool our funds together and buy a bigger one." His interest continued to grow, especially after doing research and talking to other aviators.

Representing Aviation's initiative to raise funds to purchase a reduced-price Cessna is a cause he is honored to represent. "This project would make a difference for so many aviation students trying to reduce the cost of accruing flight hours," he said. "It would be such a boost to our department." Scott appreciates that Jessup faculty are well informed about what students need to succeed and that helps make his education more robust. He put it this way, "I want to be better. I want to be a better pilot, better man, better follower of Christ and a better friend. Jessup is the place where I can take steps in those directions.
