An essential element of a college student's holistic formation and development is fully immersing oneself in environments and experiences outside the classroom. Our collective efforts help create spaces at the University where students can get connected to the community and grow as individuals and Christ-followers.
At Jessup, one of the most desired requests from students is green space. As we continue to grow, we are utilizing our outdoor spaces to create a positive student experience that allows Christ-honoring relationships to develop through recreation and connection. Our outdoor sand volleyball court has been a great spot for students since its installment, but in the California heat students are less likely to gather, play or relax in this area without shade.
The Village Recreation Area will provide new lighting for volleyball after dark and a "cool" spot to lounge with new grass turf, shade, seating and hammocks. Additionally, the lighting will allow increased use of our village grill area.
This space is a perfect location for students to gather and share memorable and transformative experiences, whether or not they live on campus.
What Your Gift Accomplishes
Your support will expand our intramural volleyball program and provide an additional space on campus that will positively impact the student experience by allowing access to recreation and community. Your support will create a space where Christ-glorifying relationships can develop for years to come. When we collectively raise $40,000, we can install LED lighting, turf, hammocks and other furniture.
