Together, we can be catalysts for change
by guiding the trajectory of one former foster youth student at a time.
Only 3% of foster youth graduate from college, yet 70% say they want to go to college. These statistics suggest that foster youth know the road to success, but do not have access or support to succeed.
In the fall of 2021, William Jessup, in partnership with The Alliance, launched the OnRamp Program for Former Foster Youth enrolling its first four students that spent time in the local foster care system. The program focuses on four pillars of success: access, support, skills and vision that leverage campus-wide resources.
This four-pronged approach provides a pathway to affordable enrollment, support from dedicated staff, engagement with success coaches/mentors and access to programming. Through these resources, foster youth students will receive the necessary skills to succeed in the classroom and their future vocations.
Together, we can become catalysts for change in the lives of our former foster youth. Supporting our scholarship program provides an opportunity for each student to graduate debt-free, while receiving an education that invests in their spiritual, academic and professional success.
What Your Gift Accomplishes
Your support will guide the trajectory of one former foster youth student at a time. When we collectively raise $24,000 we cover 100% of tuition for at least two students in the fall.
Thanks to a generous donor, your support of Foster Youth Scholarships during Give:24 will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $6,000.
Give:24 was a huge success, and we collectively raised $16,987 toward Foster Youth Scholarships! We are so thankful for our community of supporters for coming together and becoming catalysts for positive change to enable foster youth students to receive a higher education and the necessary tools to succeed!
Because of our generous donors we've fulfilled our Foster Youth Match Challenge of $6,000. Let's go above and beyond this goal to bless our foster youth students!
