Supporting Future Difference Makers from diverse backgrounds
Helping students succeed is at the heart of Jessup. From the executive team to the faculty and staff, everyone works together to create an environment where students can grow, thrive, and pursue their goals with Christ at the center.
This year we are looking forward to supporting four unique student groups: First-Generation College Students, Foster Youth, Single Parents and Minority Students.
Meet Lana | Lana is a senior in the nursing program at Jessup and one day hopes to make a difference in the medical field as a registered nurse.
"As a Jessup student and single mom, I’ve been blessed to experience this firsthand. Whether it’s a professor staying late to help a student with a tough assignment or a staff member offering prayers and encouragement during a challenging time, the care and dedication to each student is undeniable. They push us to set our sights high and trust God every step of the way.
As a recipient of one of last year's Give:24 scholarships, this project holds a special place in my heart. Each of these groups face their own set of challenges, but they also carry incredible stories of resilience and hope."
As a community we can come alongside these groups of students to build up their faith, as well as their academic and professional success through the following scholarships:
- Foster Youth | Through our OnRamp program for foster youth, we are making Christ-centered higher education more accessible and affordable. Our goal is that these students receive programming that leads to success and graduate with little to no debt.
- Single Parents | Scholarships for single mothers will enable many single mothers to either return to Jessup to finish their education and/or provide the necessary funding to complete their goals and enter a career that can support their family.
- First Generation College Students | When a first-generation college student completes their degree, the trajectory of generations often changes. Your support makes it possible for first-generation students to achieve their dreams.
- Dr. Parnell Lovelace Endowment | The Dr. Parnell Lovelace Endowment aims to provide long-term sustainable funding to support Sacramento-based students, programs and initiatives that advance the university's mission through multicultural engagement, student empowerment and DRU (Diversity, Reconciliation and Unity) and initiatives.
By making a gift to the Pathways to Success Initiative during Give:24, you provide these unique student groups with the resources they need to pursue their God-given callings.
